“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things” (Romans 1:18-23).
We have completed our discussion on The Great Invocation and the topics that this brought to our attention including or essay yesterday that centered around the ideas regarding the role of man in the last verse from each stanza, how it is left to us individually to accomplish these things in our lives on Earth and that it is through the many who can achieve to some degree that we can change the world. Our discussion included these which we will briefly discuss again before we move on to our saying above from the Apostle Paul.
- Let Light descend on Earth. As we said in the last post this IS the Light of the Soul, and, as we have previously discussed and as IS shown in our chart below, this Light can be seen by us as the Holy Spirit which we understand as the activity of the Christ Within through form individually and en masse. From the perspective of Soul, we should be able to understand that the more men that can express this Light of the Soul, this activity of the Christ Within, the greater the presence of the Holy Spirit among us. There is little teaching on the Holy Spirit in the New Testament and in relation to the common understanding of the Trinity that IS God and man, there is much confusion and, while this activity of the Spirit of God is a reality for ALL men, it is only those who can express the Love and the Power of the Soul who can be said to possess this Holy Spirit in the Earth. It is the very expression of the Christ Within that brings this into reality in the world of men and, of course, like most ALL things spiritual, this is by degree.
- May Christ return to Earth. When we speak about the Christ is this context we should understand that we are speaking in a dual reality. First we are looking for and expecting His return to us physically and this is likely to happen, and if for no other reason than the ardent expectation of so many generation after generation and the rather vague predictions that He Himself made over 2000 years ago. We should try to understand also that He never left us and although we would be hard pressed to find Him in a human body somewhere in the Earth, there are many other ways that He can be with us physically. Behind this body that we see is a similar body of the energy of form Life which can reportedly be seen by some who are sensitive to this and can be understood by others as the radiant energy that all things possess. It is not important that we understand this and any study of the etheric body of man will give us additional information although, like so much of a spiritual nature, it may be skewed to the philosophy that one is reading. Additionally there the the mental ‘substance’ that is a part of each man’s uniqueness of personality and that is a part of his physical presence but which does not pass with the body; we hesitate to mention the emotional here as while this is effective in the lives of men in the world, it is this that IS overcome in the Life of the disciple and in the Christ we have the Highest of Disciples. We should remember here our Easter discussion regarding the varying appearances of the Master and His suddenly appearing and disappearing as in this we gain some insight into the reality of the man who has Truly “overcome the world” (John 16:33). Our second reality here is found in the Presence of His potency in the world of men; the Master IS Love and Wisdom and we must see this as His Love and His Wisdom and not the worldly ideas of these ideals. His Love is the selfless caring of each man for His brother, the sense of Unity, and the example set in forsaking ALL for the Purpose of the Plan of God….This IS True Love. Wisdom is similar, it is the activity of righteousness according to that righteousness of God which Paul tells us is come to man in the fruit of the Spirit as he says: “the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth” (Ephesians 5:9). Wisdom is right discernment and living one’s Life according to the Will of God and His Plan…..Wisdom IS righteousness. We should try to see here that as more and more men in form can begin to express some degree of the Light of the Soul, that the Love and the Wisdom which are representative of the Christ and the Christ Within grows proportionately as his expression in the world. In this, as the number of men expressing this Light as the activity of the Love and Wisdom grows in proportion to the population, we both can and will see the Presence of Christ in the world of men and in this we can see another reality of His coming. We should remember in both sides of this duality that He does tell us that: “lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20) and this word here translated as world is also translated as age. Young’s Literal Translation (YLT) says it this way: “lo, I am with you all the days — till the full end of the age“; this is it literally while in other versions many differing thoughts are offered ranging from this translation of age to “the end of time” which idea makes little sense when the idea of eternal is considered. We should not discount the idea here that He IS with us always as the Christ Within as well.
- The purpose which the Masters know and serve. In this we have the reality of the Plan of God as it IS implemented by the Souls through form and, as we can imagine, this is a long and slow process from the time and space perspective that we have as men in form. Knowing that “God is love” (1 John 4:8, 16) we should then see that in His Plan Love plays a major role and again, we should see this Love from the perspective of the man in form as the selfless caring of each man for His brother, the sense of Unity, and the example set in forsaking and it IS these ideals that the Master teaches us. Those who we can consider Masters are those who have accomplished these things and have “overcome the world” and these ideas are not meant to be the complete list of the ‘virtues’ of a Master but just those that are apparent to us today. We should understand here as well that the Soul of each man is his own individual Master, his higher spiritual presence and his goal insofar as his expression to the world. Other Masters and True Saints, among which His apostles and some disciples can be considered, are those in whom the fullness of the Light of the Soul IS their expression in whatsoever part or form of Life that they may exist at any given time. Here we can consider similar understanding to that which we appoint to the Christ above. Also then, here in this statement we find the Truth that the Soul KNOWS and serves the Plan from the perspective of the Kingdom of God and the Master of the Wisdom and the True disciple are ones who have been successful in bringing this KNOWING and serving into their physical presence in the Earth. We should remember that it is in the crucible of Life in this world that men achieve and that those that we consider Masters have done so in an earlier time.
- And may it seal the door where evil dwells. We discussed this in the last post from the perspective that this is a summation of the ideas carried forth in first three verses above. From our perspective, this IS True as the bringing forth of the Light and the Love into the Earth by means of the ardent effort of aspirants, disciples and men of GoodWill who can and will do much to Let the Plan of Love and Light work out and it IS this Plan that we speak about above as The purpose which the Masters know and serve. This Plan, this Purpose which we can see as the Will of God, is the spreading throughout the world of the Light and the Love which IS the Christ, the Christ Within and the Cosmic Christ and we should try to see that these three are all the same; our individualized Christ Within is part and parcel of the Christ as that Potency of Love and Wisdom brought to us by the historic Christ and He is then part and parcel of the Cosmic Christ which IS the reality of the Logos and the Potency of Love and Wisdom as God. In the consummation of the Plan of Light and Love we find that change of focus, that Repentance, from the self and the self in the world to the things of God as individuals and it IS as more and more men do Truly Repent as we understand it, that we can seal the door where evil dwells. It IS important to try to understand here the reality that this door is the self in the world and Life through this self is seen only through the illusion and the glamour of the things of the world and of and for the self. It IS in turning away from this view, this focus on these worldly things, that the door is closed, it is sealed by our Repentance and this is done both individually and corporately. Thus, the more that men come to this right focus of Life in form on the things of God the more closed this door becomes for ALL. Here we should remember that evil, like sin, is the focus by the man in the world on the thoughts, attitudes and actions of and for the self.
- Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth. This last line of the Great Invocation is the reality of the whole of the prayer and as we can see from our words above and yesterday, it is through the effort if the individual man, the aspirant and the disciple, and the man of GoodWill who by his actions is striving, that the greater Light and Love and the Power of His Will and Purpose can be seen in the Earth. In the sum total of individuals focused upon the things of God, we can measure the Light, Love and Power in action in the world and as this sum total grows so grows the measure. This IS the simple fact as we see it and this is the way and likely the only way to bring these, the Light, the Love and the Power of God and of the God Within to greater measure in the world and these three ARE the Plan and by the ever increasing measure we can restore it here on this Earth. The use of the word restore is interesting in this context that we are discussing as it presupposes that this Plan was in force here in the Earth in some time past and remembering that we are dealing with eternity and the cyclic and ongoing developmental of ALL things we can and should accept this word at it face value.
We did not get to our saying at the top of the page today as we thought it better to try to clarify our understanding of the Great Invocation and its purpose and its use by men today as well as our vision as to the outcome. We have here, over the last several days, built upon our model that it IS for the True man, the Soul, individually, to accomplish ALL things as the Christ teaches and it is in the multiplying of this accomplishment by many men that we can and will change the world. We should note here that this has ever been going on, that men have ever been accomplishing, and that we are joining them as we look forward to others following us. We should also remember that this IS being hastened by the incoming energies of the New Age, an age of GoodWill, brotherhood and harmony. We post again the Great Invocation for greater clarity and use:
From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men.
Let Light descend on Earth.
From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
May Christ return to Earth.
From the centre where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men–
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.
From the centre which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Note on the Quote of the Day
This daily blog also has a Quote of the Day which may not be in any way related to the essay. Many of these will be from the Bible and some just prayers or meditations that may have an influence on you and are in line with the subject matter of this blog. As the quote will change daily and will not store with the post, it is repeated in this section with the book reference and comment.
We are again at a time of year that includes the three Spiritual Festivals which are yet largely unrecognized by the Christian churches except for the one that recently past called Easter. We know about these festivals through the teaching and the efforts of the Master’s of the Wisdom who we should see as advanced disciples of the Christ, a group which may yet include those Souls that appeared with the Master as His Apostles, disciples and others who aided and assisted in His Great Mission such as the Baptist and His natural mother Mary. Each of these festivals is celebrated at a Full Moon and the cycle begins with Easter which is celebrated on the Sunday following the first Full Moon of Spring. At the Full Moon of May, which occurs on the 5th day of the month, is the Wesak Festival which is the Festival of the Buddha and at the Full Moon of June, which will occur on the 4th of June, is the Christ Festival also known today as World Invocation Day. As we progress toward the Wesak Festival we will post Quote’s of the Day that are, in our view, conducive to the view of the Buddha and the Christ as regards the spreading of Love and GoodWill throughout the world; we begin with the Affirmation of the Disciple.
I am a point of light within a greater Light.
I am a strand of loving energy within the stream of Love divine.
I am a point of sacrificial Fire, focused within the fiery Will of God.
And thus I stand
I am a way by which men may achieve.
I am a source of strength, enabling them to stand.
I am a beam of light, shining upon their way.
And thus I stand.

And tread this way the ways of men,
And know the ways of God.
And thus I stand.
We repeat again what we had previously said of this Mantram:
Today’s Quote of the Day is called the Affirmation of the Disciple and is spoken from the perspective of the Soul and not from that of the man in form. It is the Soul that we are in this life on Earth, housed in this ‘temple’ of flesh and it is the Light of the Soul that must flow through this ‘temple’ in order that we may say with the Christ “I have overcome the world“ (John 16:33) which is our goal and our destiny. Speaking then as the Soul we affirm our reality and true existence in God and in His Three Aspects of Light and Love and His Will. As this Light and Love and Will flow through our conscious personalities and forms we, as disciples, take on the nature of the second stanza being able to offer to the world a better way through our service and our Love for all, encouragement to righteousness through our strength of purpose, and the Light which shines in accordance with the Master’s instructions to “Let your light so shine before men” (Matthew 5:16) and illuminates the Path. Finally we realize that we are standing in this world and walking as men but, as conscious Souls in form, we know the way and the ways of God and are able to say with the Christ that “I am not of this world” (John 8:23).
